EARN Service Dogs

Changing Lives Through Expertly Trained Service Dogs

EARN Service Dogs is a Michigan-based, non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through the power of service dogs. We work with reputable and ethical breeders, hand-selecting each puppy based on temperament—not coat color or gender—to ensure the highest quality match for those in need.

We raise and train dogs to assist children and adults with special needs, as well as veterans. Understanding the profound benefits of service dogs and the human-animal bond, our mission is to provide comfort, independence, confidence, and companionship to those who need it most.

How We Serve Our Community

🐕‍🦺 Service Dog Placement

We provide fully trained service dogs to qualified individuals with disabilities at no cost. Our dogs are trained to assist with a wide range of needs including mobility support, seizure alert, diabetic alert, psychiatric support, and more.

Who Qualifies: Individuals who meet ADA requirements for service dog placement receive their dogs free of charge. Our donor-funded model ensures that financial barriers never prevent someone from receiving a life-changing service dog.

👨‍👩‍👧 Companion Dogs for Special Needs Families

We carefully match exceptional companion dogs with families of special needs children. These sensitive, well-trained dogs provide emotional support, companionship, and comfort to children and their families.

If you believe your family could benefit from one of our specially selected companion dogs, we encourage you to reach out and learn more about the application process.

🤝 Partnership with Service Dog Organizations

We support other non-profit service dog organizations across the United States by providing well-bred puppies with strong health screenings and the ideal temperament for service work.

Our partner organizations train their dogs for specialized roles including guide dogs, balance dogs, seizure alert dogs, insulin detection dogs, wheelchair assistance dogs, hearing dogs, and more.

🐾 Professional Dog Placement

Puppies that don’t graduate from our service dog program, but still possess exceptional qualities, are placed with professional organizations for specialized work.

These dogs often serve in K9 units, TSA security, farming operations, and other professional capacities. Placement fees (typically $20,000 – $50,000) directly fund our mission to provide free service dogs to qualified individuals.

🏠 Pet Adoption Program

Occasionally, we have puppies from a litter that aren’t placed in our training program due to timing or capacity. These well-bred, temperament-tested puppies make wonderful family pets and are available for adoption.

Important: All adopters must pass a background check and sign a contract prohibiting breeding. Adoption fees support our non-profit mission.

💙 Volunteer & Puppy Foster Program

Puppy foster homes are the heart of our organization. We’re always seeking dedicated volunteers to raise and socialize our puppies during their critical early development months.

All volunteers undergo background checks and complete certified service dog trainer requirements. If you’re interested in becoming a puppy foster home, we’d love to hear from you!

Our Commitment to Ethics: EARN Service Dogs operates with integrity and diligence. We do NOT sell dogs for breeding to individuals and are firmly against puppy mills. Every puppy is placed thoughtfully and responsibly.
Certified Training: All EARN Service Dogs are trained exclusively by volunteers who have passed comprehensive background checks and earned certification as service dog trainers.

Support Our Mission

As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit, we rely on donations to cover veterinary expenses, equipment, puppy jackets, transportation, and ongoing training costs. Your support directly impacts the lives of individuals with disabilities.
